According to our television expert
Thanks to the OLED screen, you can enjoy true-to-life colors and really deep blacks.
The P5 Gen5 image processor and 100Hz refresh rate ensure smooth images.
Ambilight illuminates the wall behind the TV in the colors of the image for an atmospheric viewing experience.
The television doesn't have AirPlay, with which you can stream content from your mobile device to the TV.
With the 65-inch Philips 65OLED808 - Ambilight (2023), you can enjoy colorful and razor-sharp images. The TV lights up the wall behind the TV in the colors displayed on the screen thanks to the Ambilight technology. The Ambilight lights are on 4 sides of the TV, which ensures rest for your eyes and an immersive viewing experience. The 4K OLED screen displays high-contrast images. The screen has pixels that light up or dim individually. That way, dark scenes in movies are easier to follow in a light room and a starry sky comes into its own. Thanks to the HDR support and 10-bit color panel, the TV displays colorful and realistic images. This way, you can enjoy animals' bright and vibrant colors during a nature documentary. You don't miss any of the action during sports matches or fast action scenes, thanks to the 100Hz refresh rate. This way, you can always see the ball roll clearly on the soccer field and see pieces fly around during an explosion. The P5 Gen5 processor improves all images, so you're always watching with an optimal quality. You can watch content on your favorite apps on the built-in Android smart platform, like Netflix and YouTube. You can effortlessly stream movies, series, or music from your mobile phone to the TV via the built-in Google Chromecast.

We have been used to Philips with Ambilight for over 20 years, and we have always found this to be an added value when watching TV. This OLED provides a very nice image and viewer experience, but what really bothers us is that every 4 minutes the image freezes for half a second. He also asks to refresh the image very often (too often in our opinion), which means that you cannot watch TV for 10 minutes, something that is not very nice if you are just watching an exciting series. You can ignore it by clicking the 'cancel' button, but a little later you will be asked again. I understand that this has to do with the OLED screen, but we find it very disturbing to have to watch TV like this.

This TV is everything I needed. The OLED screen ensures that the colors pop and it is simply beautiful to look at. Before this I also had a Phillips (The One from 2022) and you really notice a huge difference with LCD screens. The functionalities are endless for both films/series and gaming and even better than I imagined. You can adjust a lot of things, although the factory settings are also very good. It is advisable to use a soundbar, because the sound from the screen sounds a bit tinny. The Ambilight function is not a must for me, but it is a nice addition and provides nice lighting. You can also set this up in many different ways. Connection to a soundbar did not work completely, but after reading a number of videos/explanations from coolblue it worked out fine. (bringing a 4k 120hz cable is a must for this) All in all a great experience for me, the delivery was also nothing to complain about. Very happy with the good protective layer that the TV had upon arrival. My gaming and home cinema setup is now complete.

Beautiful design with Ambilight for more experience. Easy to set up and connect to existing soundbars, etc. The built-in Google TV and therefore Google Chrome is also very easy. CI+ proof with the module with version 1.3. According to Ziggo itself, it says no, but don't be fooled.
