According to our drone expert
Thanks to the extra batteries, you extend the flight time of your drone with 92 minutes.
The Smart Controller has a built-in screen, so you don't need a smartphone to fly.
With the drone's 2 cameras, you can make both wide-angle and telephoto shots.
You're not allowed to fly a drone everywhere.
The DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo + Smart Controller is a complete set for drone enthusiasts. You receive a DJI Air 3 drone with Smart Controller, 2 extra batteries, extra propellers, a charging dock, and a carrying bag. With the extra batteries, you can extend the flight time of your drone by 92 minutes. You can charge them in the charging dock. Got 3 batteries that are almost empty? Transfer the remaining battery capacity of all 3 batteries to 1 battery via the charging dock. That way, you can still send your drone into the sky 1 more time after all. The included Smart Controller has a built-in screen. Here, you can view the images of your drone live. You can control it without a smartphone.
Image qualityThe Air 3 has both a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens. Thanks to the 24mm focal length, you can capture a wide image with the wide-angle lens. You can capture wide landscapes, for example. The telephoto lens has a 70mm focal length. You can zoom in on a faraway subject with this, such as a cow in the meadow. You record in 4K resolution at 60 fps, which brings razor-sharp video images. Record in D-Log for a larger dynamic range and more editing options. You take 48-megapixel photos, so they always have lots of details. When you crop them, the photos remain sharp.
Flight timeWith a fully charged battery, you can fly for up to 46 minutes. There are 2 extra batteries in the Fly More Combo, which you extend the flight time by 92 minutes with. Thanks to the obstacle detection sensors, you can fly without worry. The sensors detect obstacles on all sides and automatically fly around them. This reduces the chance of a collision.
Law and legislationFrom 2021 onward, new European drone regulations apply. This means that drone pilots must register themselves if they own a drone that weighs more than 250g or has a camera. You receive an operating number that needs to be attached on your drone and be clearly visible. This drone weighs more than 500g, so you need a basic drone course for this.

You can go out with the DJI Air 3 quite carefree, thanks to the very good omnidirectional sensors, it keeps an eye on things so that you do not unexpectedly get entangled in tree branches or bump into something.
It is very agile in its maneuvers and produces beautiful images. In terms of compactness it is (for me) on the edge, it could be a bit smaller for the "Air" line, but despite that it is still compact enough to be the ideal flying camera during your outings.
Please note: thanks to its weight, it has the C1 class, which falls into the A1 category from this model. This means that you must be in possession of a certificate (take a free theoretical exam online) and also must have an operator number visible on the device to be in order.

The air 3 is a complete drone that is easy to fly, even for pilots without experience. Setting all functions is also easy. The drone is not compact and therefore less suitable for taking with you on long treks, for example by bicycle. A smaller model such as the mini 3 pro or others may be more suitable for this. Battery life of the drone and controller is very good. A number of functions of the drone cannot be used in Belgium due to regulations (manual activation of the auxiliary light, for example) In short, an ideal drone for the rookie as well as for the more experienced pilot who loves taking photos.

Nice drone, bought as an upgrade from the mini 2. Has much more to offer in terms of performance. Due to the weight, a certificate must be obtained. This is a fairly simple online course. The controls are almost the same as the mini 2, so the transition is small. The extra weight ensures a stable flight/film even with more wind
