Our digital expert will help you, but it can sometimes make mistakes, like humans do.
According to our semi-automatic espresso machine expert
Via the touchscreen display, you can adjust the coffee specialties exactly to your liking.
With the built-in tamper, you press the ground coffee evenly for an even result.
You froth the milk more easily than with other piston machines, since the steam wand does it automatically.
Without built-in manometer, you can't see how much pressure you use for the espresso and can't adjust the preparation to it.
You can easily make an espresso or cappuccino with the Sage The Barista Touch Impress Brushed Stainless Steel. This machine mostly works automatically. This way, you can easily brew an espresso. Choose the desired coffee specialty on the touchscreen display. The bean grinder grinds the coffee beans with 30 different grind settings. You press the coffee with the built-in tamper. This ensures you get the right amount of pressed coffee. Want a milk specialty? The automatic steam wand froths milk for you. You can determine the temperature and thickness of the milk foam and the machine does the rest. The machine heats up and is ready for use within 3 seconds.
Would you like barista worthy coffee, but you don't know much about it or don't want to do too much work? Then I recommend this piston machine. The device has a touchscreen display that walks you through all the steps. In addition, the automatic steam pipe froths milk for you. In fact, you hand over all the work. I did find that the device makes a lot of noise, but that should not spoil the fun.
Make it ready for use I take the device out of the box and I see that all kinds of accessories are included. The bean grinder is integrated in the device. I easily click this on the top. When I turn on the machine, the device immediately goes through all kinds of steps with me. For example, there is an accessory checklist that allows me to see whether everything is included. I also set the time and prepare the device for use. What immediately struck me is that you indicate which type of milk you mainly use. Vegetable milk or cow's milk for example. It adjusts the steam and temperature to this. I am very curious about this.
Touch screen display The device therefore has a touchscreen display. This display goes through all the steps with me. What I really like, for example, is that the machine gives a kind of barista course. He explains all the steps how I make an espresso and froth milk. I find this very useful for those who still have little knowledge of a piston machine.
Pre-programmed coffee recipes Different coffees are shown on the display. This is very unique with piston machines, since you normally determine the proportions per recipe yourself. Here the machine does that for you. This way, you can press a coffee of your choice and the device will start grinding the coffee. This makes quite a noise. I push the coffee myself with the built-in tamper. This is the lever on the left. After this I place the filter holder in the machine and it starts making coffee.
Gives you feedback After I brew an espresso, the piston machine gives me feedback for the best espresso. For example, it remembers the correct dosage, but says that next time less or more ground coffee is needed for the espresso or which grind size is best to use.
Automatic steam pipe The steam wand automatically froths the milk for me. Not many piston machines do that. He asks in advance which type of milk I use. He then adjusts the steam and temperature. There is a thermometer at the bottom that measures the temperature for the best foam. After use, I clean the steam pipe with a cloth.

I've had several Sage piston machines over the years. This one is still the best.
But just after the warranty expired, the steam wand broke and wouldn't pressurize.
