The iRobot j9+ is a complete and smart robot vacuum cleaner that works thoroughly. With high suction power and a smart mopping function, it cleans my floors neatly.
Thorough vacuum cleaner
I was very curious about the cleaning results of this robot. It is indicated that the cleaning result is higher than that of previous iRobot models. After seeing the robot in action, I am not disappointed. The robot does its job really well. It vacuums my hard floors, but also carpet thoroughly clean. The double rubber main brush removes dirt and hair from the floor without any problems. The side brush takes the edges neatly. When the robot drives on carpet, it increases its suction power. I can see that it vacuums the carpet well. The vacuumed dirt ends up in the built-in dust container. When the robot notices that it is full, it automatically drives to the emptying station. So I don't have to pay attention to this myself.
Smart mopping function
The robot has a built-in mop that picks up carpet. I was curious about this, because I had not tested this before. When I turn on the mopping function, the robot automatically places its mop on the floor. As soon as it recognizes carpet, the mop lifts. This way he doesn't drive over my carpet with the wet mop. Very handy, because it means I don't have to create a separate cleaning route for vacuuming and mopping at the same time. He covers the entire floor in one go. Because the mop moves back and forth, it picks up more dirt from the floor than just a stationary microfiber cloth. The robot collects the water for the mop from the base station. This saves me effort, because I don't have to fill the water reservoir in the robot myself.
Self-learning
I find all kinds of smart techniques via the app. This allows the robot to adapt its cleaning routine to my house. This way the robot remembers where there is a lot of dirt in the house. He then adjusts his route accordingly, so that he cleans dirty places sooner. Handy, because he is more likely to drive past my kitchen, for example, because there are more crumbs there. The cleaning gets better and better, because the robot learns more about my house. In addition, the robot sees where objects are located. So if I leave a sock lying around, it won't suck it up. So I let the robot do its thing, because I can trust it to do its job properly.
