The Seagate IronWolf Pro 30TB is an internal hard drive with plenty of storage for all my large files. With 30 terabytes of storage, this drive is suitable for heavy business use. I test the hard drive by transferring many different files. I quickly transfer entire photo folders, large spreadsheets, and documents to the drive.
Plenty of storage
The hard drive has 30 terabytes of storage. In the UGREEN NAS app, I see that 27.2 terabytes of this is available for storage. This means that almost 3 terabytes is used for other files or items that I can't access. Despite this, I have plenty of room for all my files. I transfer large photo folders to the hard drive. These contain RAW photos, which take up more space than JPG photos. For personal use, 30 terabytes might be a bit much. I recommend the hard drive primarily for business use. With 30 terabytes of storage, you have enough space for files from an entire office.
Solid build quality
The IronWolf Pro feels solid. I find the drive a bit heavy, but that's understandable given the large storage capacity and sturdy casing. It also has dual platters and vibration sensors to counteract vibration. During file transfers, I can see in the UGREEN app that the drive stays cool. Even when transferring 3 terabytes of photos at a time, the hard drive stays around 45 degrees Celsius. This is due to the helium filling inside the hard drive. This keeps the drive cooler and quieter, so I don't experience any noise while transferring everything.
Fast data transfer
The hard drive rotates at a maximum of 7,200 revolutions per minute. This is faster than most hard drives that rotate at 5,400 or 5,800 revolutions per minute. I also notice this when transferring files. The hard drive works quickly. This allows me to transfer all my photos to the drive within a few minutes.
