This is a somewhat difficult review because I bought this item as a second chance item and probably too much was deleted from the disk.....

My W10 PC did not see the drive in explorer, which it should have according to the manual. The drive was visible with disk management and by assigning a drive letter it was also visible in explorer. The disk was completely erased and with it probably also a piece of software to start with for the first time, etc. After downloading SeagateToolkit.exe, the program worked, recognized the drive and security could be enabled via the supplied code. After creating a backup plan, the backup function initially seemed to work, but there is no indication of how far it is (only the estimated time remaining). In explorer you can see what he has already saved. At one point the time required increased so much that I suspected that the backup had stopped. After several other attempts, I couldn't even format the drive on my own PC. Fortunately it still worked on another one. If I read it correctly, not all file types are saved. SeagateToolkit.exe became SeagateToolkit exit.

Made a backup via Windows functions. That went without any problems. I've seen decent transfer speeds for an HDD. Nothing can be said about reliability and price-quality ratio until the long term. But as an off-line backup drive it will hopefully last a while...
