According to our projector expert
Thanks to HDR10 support and 100000:1 contrast ratio, you can experience realistic images with vibrant colors and a high contrast.
You get a clear projection while you game or when you watch series and movies during the day with 3100 ISO lumens.
The keystone correction allows you to easily adjust the projection from any angle.
The projector is relatively heavy with 4.8kg, so you can't easily move it with one hand.
Image quality is top notch and very handy!

I bought the XGIMI Horizon Max S for my attic room with a sloped ceiling (due to a dormer window). Important to know: this projector can only do keystone correction if it's projecting onto a straight wall. I had it tilted against a sloped ceiling, and it struggled with that. If you project from an angle towards a straight wall, lens shift and automatic correction work perfectly. With a sloped ceiling without a straight wall, you really need to place it directly in front of the wall (fortunately, I can just about manage that).
What really surprised me was the brightness. Even with some ambient light during the day, the image is perfectly visible, and in the evening, I usually turn the brightness down to level 1 or 2 out of 10 – it's that bright! It literally feels like I have a 100-inch TV mounted on the wall. Considering the price of a good 85-100-inch TV these days, you'll often find it costs the same as this projector. A big advantage: no unsightly black bar on the wall or cabinet. If you don't use it? Simply store it away or fold it away. Perfect.
Downsides/things to consider:
The sound from the built-in Harman Kardon speakers is surprisingly good and full – more than enough for most people, especially in an attic or bedroom.
In short: if you want a huge boost in movie and TV experience without a huge TV on the wall, and you don't mind taking some time to measure and position it, then the XGIMI Horizon Max S is a great purchase. I'm extremely happy with it!

The image is ultra-sharp and the light output is very high. It starts up incredibly quickly and is very quiet. The downside is that when you have to use the keystone intensively (projecting at an angle), there's a large light spot next to the image. Therefore, I now use a ceiling mount to position it ideally (my initial plan was to place it on top of a cabinet with angled projection). Otherwise, it's simply a professional device.
