How great is the idea of doing an IPL treatment yourself instead of going to a beauty salon. Perfect you would say, the payback period of this device would then also be a few treatments. However, I do experience that it takes more time and work than I had thought.
First of all, the device is quite clumsy and heavy. If you want to treat your legs, it is still perfectly doable. But if you come to your upper body or to places with more curves, then it becomes more difficult to do it yourself with this device. Where a mirror is sometimes also necessary and you do it in mirror image, extra challenge!
You have to take into account a lot of rules. Not twice in the same place in a row, not on moles etc. That makes working and doing it yourself more time-consuming and also more difficult. For example, I have to change attachments halfway through and I have to take into account the battery life, which is fine for a treatment.
What also strikes me is that you really have to use the device well on the skin, otherwise you think that a picture is being taken continuously by the flash of light. What I personally also worry about is the safety of this with regard to people around you or your own health. So wearing sunglasses is recommended.
I dare not say what the output of this device is yet, I am a blonde with light hair myself. This is not directly recommended in that and for that I have to have used the device at least 4 times over 8 weeks, spread out every other week. So I have to be patient for a while.
Personally, I prefer it if someone would do the treatment for me instead of doing it myself, because then I know for sure that everything is done and also well without me having to pay attention myself.
