The Miele WQ 1000 WPS Nova washing machine has everything I need and more. There are really many programs for all types of laundry. The drum can hold large loads of laundry. What I find especially important is that the washing machine takes extra good care of my clothes thanks to the special drum wall and TwinDos. I can safely wash my expensive delicate sweater in the drum. I also wash extra fast thanks to PowerWash and have less ironing thanks to SteamCare.
First impression
The first thing that strikes me about the new Miele Nova is the new look. I swipe through all the programs on the glass display with my fingers. I do notice that swiping leaves some fingerprints, but they disappear with a cloth. The washing machine really has many programs. I can find something for all my types of laundry.
MotionReact and ComfortOpen
I think the MotionReact is a cool feature. When I walk to the washing machine, it switches on automatically. I don't have to set anything for this. This way I can get started on the laundry right away. The ComfortOpen door opens automatically when I tap the edge of the door with my knee, for example. This is useful when my hands are full of bedding.
TwinDos
One of the techniques of this washing machine is the TwinDos automatic detergent dosing. In the opening at the bottom, 2 lights are lit to indicate that the reservoirs are empty. When I click a new reservoir into the machine, the light goes out. The automatic detergent dosing calculates exactly how much detergent is needed for my laundry. This is better for my laundry and I also save on detergent.
PowerWash
My favorite program is the QuickPowerWash program. I like to do a smaller load of laundry quickly. With this program, I wash half a drum in just 49 minutes. That's nice, because my favorite outfit is clean quickly and I wear it to a dinner party. I actually use this program the most, because I like to do multiple washes in a row.
SteamCare
Thanks to SteamCare, I can quickly freshen up my musty clothes with steam without washing them. Handy, when they have been in the closet for the winter. The steam function also reduces wrinkles. I like that, because ironing is not my favorite activity. However, my laundry does have to dry after steaming, because it comes out of the drum a bit damp.
Special drum wall
Inside the drum, I notice that there are no carrier ribs that move my laundry. Instead, this drum has special honeycomb-shaped bubbles. I see that my clothes gently rise up because of this, but are not thrown around. This makes me trust that I also wash my more expensive wool sweater carefully in the machine.
