I fell head over heels for this quirky device because of the cool back and the shell with the special functions. Where reviewers start with the camera, I start with the sound because a smartphone is first and foremost a phone. That sound is not shrill but deep and beautifully veiled. The monochrome shell is great, nicely minimalistic. This smartphone is still in development so that extra essential button at the bottom right will certainly get more functions. I already received a special Nothing update in a week. By the way, this is a stock Android with a Nothing shell around it, so you don't get any annoyware. On the home screen you have a do not disturb button and a button where you can read your daily screen time. The device may be a bit bulky but you get used to that. I don't see myself going back to old loves anytime soon. If you want better photos, take the Pro. I charge it once every two days, and that goes quickly, so that battery is really fat.

The device is fast, charges very quickly (50 Watt) and the software is pleasant to use. For me more logical than e.g. Samsung. Furthermore no bloatware and easy to set up to your own liking. Battery life seems fine. Can do 2 days with it, but choose to charge up to 90% daily (charging is adjustable from 70-90%). The phone is equipped with a thin screen protector as standard, this does not affect the sensitivity. How this and the panda glass screen will hold up is not yet possible to say. Also nice is the relatively long support through safety updates until 2031.

For years I have been using Nokia phones because they had a clean Android installation without applications. They no longer make them. Now I have switched to Nothing Phone. A UK based company, deliberately chosen for European production. Android with the Nothing OS skin over it takes some getting used to, but then: the design of the icons, the groupings: it is fantastic! I don't take many photos, but the quality is also very good. What I am disappointed with is the sensitivity to scratches of the screen. Despite hardly using it and carefully putting it down in the first few days, a new small scratch appeared on the screen every day. It took a while before I received the protective cover and screen. I have never experienced this sensitivity to scratches with phones before.
