According to our drone expert
You can click your smartphone into the included Remote Controller and easily control the drone.
Thanks to the AI tracking, the drone recognizes subjects and keeps them in the image accurately.
With the Cruise Control function, the drone automatically flies in 1 direction.
This drone doesn't have obstacle detection sensors, so you need to watch out while flying.
With the Potensic ATOM 2 + Remote Controller, you can record razor-sharp, creative drone images. With the included remote and your smartphone, you can control the drone. Click your phone into the controller and watch the footage you record live. This drone has smart AI tracking, so the drone follows a moving object itself. You can choose from 3 different modes: Spotlight, Follow, or Parallel. With Parallel, the drone flies next to you, for example. When you use Follow, it flies behind you. This way, you can record many different images. When you have to fly far forward, use the Cruise Control function. With this, the drone flies forward itself. You don't have to keep pressing the joysticks while flying. The drone flies maximum 32 minutes on 1 fully charged battery. Thanks to this, you can enjoy flying with your drone for a long time.
Law and legislationFrom 2021, new European drone legislation applies. This means that drone pilots must register themselves if they own a drone that weighs more than 250g or has a camera. You'll receive an operator registration number you need to attach to your drone, which should be clearly visible. This drone weighs less than 250g, so you don't need to complete a drone course. You do have to register the drone and request an operator registration number.
The Potensic ATOM 2 is a great drone if you have little experience with drones. I take razor-sharp images and control it easily with functions such as AI tracking. The drone does not have obstacle detection, so I have to pay close attention to where I fly.
User-friendly controls Even if you have never flown a drone before, the Potensic ATOM 2 is easy to control. The remote control looks like a game controller, with joysticks on both sides. I click my phone into the controller, connect the drone to my phone via the app and fly away immediately. There are various buttons on the remote control. For example, I use a turning wheel to control the gimbal while filming. I think this works easily.
Useful functions The ATOM 2 has various functions that make flying even easier. I often use the AI tracking myself. I select a subject on the screen of my phone, after which the drone itself follows the movements of this subject. In this way, I make a video of myself walking on the beach, for example. I don't have to steer the drone, but I do have to be careful that it doesn't fly into obstacles. It doesn't have obstacle detection. When I film my surroundings, I prefer to use the automatic flight modes. For example, it flies in a circle around a special building. The advantage is that the drone flies in a stable movement, which makes the images look cinematic.
High image quality The images that I film with the drone are clear and sharp. I use this video footage for my social media channels, for example. The quality is high enough for this. The drone takes photos with 48 megapixels, which means that they have a lot of detail. This allows me to zoom in on a subject in the distance afterwards without loss of quality. I find this useful if I can't get close with the drone. When I fly the drone on the beach, it's windy. I'm not afraid that the drone will blow away, it hangs stably in the air. However, I do see a lot of vibrations in my videos afterwards that the gimbal didn't catch. This is why I prefer not to film in strong winds.

Great drone for a great price!
For my first time flying a drone, I was looking for a reasonably priced, yet high-quality one. That's how I ended up with the Potensic Atom 2. After flying it several times now, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. The camera quality is excellent for a more affordable drone like this. It's also easy to get used to. Note: the drone doesn't have environmental detection, but luckily we humans do!
Tips:
There's a really helpful video on YouTube called "Potensic Atom 2: 148 Things You Should Know," which helped me a lot during my first few flights. Don't be afraid of a little wind; the drone is incredibly powerful and can handle fairly high wind speeds.

This drone takes beautiful videos (4k) and photos (8MP), even in low light. It also films well in windy conditions. Operation is simple. The Dutch manual is available on the Potensic website. A drawback is that if you crash the drone, parts are not yet available.
