We were allowed to test this refrigerator for a few weeks.
Although the refrigerator performs its basic functions excellently, it is of course about the functions that a normal refrigerator does not have. And these justify the higher price.
The auto-open system is a nice gadget. You can operate the doors with the sensor or even via the app. You can also set how far they should open. I think it is a nice addition and useful if you have your hands full of groceries.
The tablet in the refrigerator is fine in terms of screen. It is clear and responds quickly to touch. The most well-known apps are usable, including YouTube. Unfortunately, there is also a downside here; although the sound is fine for a cooking video, it is unfortunately not good enough to play music on. The sound quality is unfortunately not good enough for that.
The refrigerator also contains smart apps to monitor energy consumption and tweak the refrigerator operation to optimize it. I think this can add something in the long run, the test period was unfortunately not long enough for that. However, I do believe in its usefulness.
The refrigerator also provides ice cubes and chilled water, of course. These functions make your warm summer just a little bit more pleasant!
All in all, I like the smart functions and can see their use, but I don't think they justify the high purchase price at the moment. In my opinion, it is still too limited for that. For example, there is only 1 camera in the refrigerator to view the contents. However, you can only see 1 tray with this. It would be better to place 2 or 3 and that would also be justified for this price level, I think. Samsung is on the right track, I am curious to see what improvements they will tackle in the next series!
