I bought a device to use in my mobile home to watch Netflix and browse the internet on my tablet. I specifically chose this device because it was the only MiFi router with eSIM support. It took some fiddling around initially to configure the eSIM. This router comes with a Simo eSIM by default.

Since I had purchased a Digi eSIM (recommended), I wanted to configure it. However, the pre-installed firmware doesn't support an additional or different eSIM; for that, you have to download a newer firmware. This was a bit tricky, since you already need an internet connection. According to the manual, you can connect to a Wi-Fi network, but I wasn't successful. I temporarily removed a SIM from my phone and inserted it, and then an option to connect to a Wi-Fi network appeared. Once you've connected to your own Wi-Fi network and established an internet connection, you can download the new firmware. After the system is updated and restarted, you'll be given the option to add an eSIM. I entered my Digi card number (even though the system wasn't listed as 'supported'), activated it, and waited a bit (I think I'd also deactivated the system to speed up the process). I was able to connect to the Digi network. I tested it this weekend, and everything seemed to work smoothly. I could watch Netflix without any hiccups (FHD). I'll continue testing later this year to see if coverage is good abroad.
