Our digital expert will help you, but it can sometimes make mistakes, like humans do.
According to our mobile phone expert
Large screen for details: on the large 6.9-inch screen, you can see every detail in videos and games.
Sharp photos when you zoom in: even when you zoom in 8 times, you can take sharp photos with the telephoto lens.
For the most demanding apps and games: even the most demanding games and apps run smoothly and quickly thanks to the powerful processor.
Difficult to carry: this heavy and large device doesn’t fit in every pocket.

With the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max, I always take sharp photos and have no problem at all with the most demanding apps and tasks. The device is on the heavy side, though.
Size The large screen of the iPhone 17 Pro Max took some getting used to. It is a fantastic screen for watching videos and playing games, but for daily use, I find a smaller screen more convenient. The iPhone 17 Pro Max sometimes barely fits in my pocket. Because the device is also heavy, my hand gets tired if I hold it for a long time. So only choose the Pro Max if you really want the largest screen. Go try it out at the Coolblue store if you are in doubt.
Sharp photos when zooming in and in the dark With the iPhone 17 Pro Max, I take sharp, beautiful photos in all situations. I used the telephoto lens a lot. With it, for example, I took sharp photos of beautiful details on a building during a walk in Rotterdam. When I zoom in, I focus the photo on your subject, resulting in less distraction and noise in the photos. As a result, I take better photos than with just a standard lens. Photos are clear and sharp, even at night. With the Center Stage selfie camera, I can fit multiple people in my selfies more easily. The camera automatically rotates to landscape mode to do this and keeps my face in the center.
Lightning-fast iPhone with good cooling Along with the 17 Pro, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is the fastest iPhone at the moment. I have no problem at all with the heaviest apps, even when I have many apps open. While editing my photos, I can easily check my messages or put on some music. I often edit photos from my digital camera in high quality. That is a demanding task. Other smartphones often got very hot after a while, sometimes so hot that I had to put them down for a moment. The iPhone 17 Pro Max stays much cooler, even after half an hour of photo editing.
Battery life of nearly 2 days Thanks to the large battery, the iPhone 17 Pro Max lasts a long time. I never drain the battery within a day. If I don't use my iPhone much, I even get 2 days. I do find it takes a long time to get the battery fully charged again; about an hour and a half. With devices from other brands, that goes 2 or even 3 times faster.

For the first time, the camera comes close to being a professional camera. The digital (like your iPhone photos) edge is also gone. Good RAW files for working with in Lightroom.

It's a phenomenally beautiful device. I chose the cosmic orange color, and wow, what a color! It's large, but personally, I love that. There's plenty of room if you want to watch a video, for example. It just takes some getting used to, coming from a Samsung phone with Android, but it's just a matter of time. I still have to get used to it, but first impressions are truly wow!
