According to our semi-automatic espresso machine expert
The built-in coffee grinder grinds the coffee beans, so you can brew a fresh cup of coffee.
The powerful steam wand quickly froths milk foam without bubbles.
With the included tamper and milk pitcher, you can start brewing coffee right away.
The device doesn't have a touchscreen display to easily navigate the menu.
A beautiful machine with many features. User-friendly, although you may need to figure out the right settings. With settings like grind fineness, water temperature, coffee volume, and water volume, you can easily brew your own perfect coffee. It's convenient that you can simultaneously brew coffee and froth the milk. The machine is easy to install and quick to use. It heats up quickly and grinds the beans smoothly (it has a time indicator!). The milk froths beautifully in the included jug. It took a little while to find the cleaning brushes, but they're neatly concealed behind the drip tray. A separate container for coffee grounds would have been nice. The space under the coffee spout is high enough to accommodate a taller cup, for example, for a café latte. The only drawback is the somewhat flimsy support system under the beans. This doesn't feel very sturdy compared to the rest of the machine.

The appliance looks compact, sleek, and modern, with stylish LED lighting. The quality makes a solid impression and fits well in a modern kitchen. It is a shame, however, that essential accessories such as the cleaning brushes are not immediately visible in the packaging.
The manual is only available digitally via a QR code. While the online videos are helpful, a paper manual would have been more convenient, especially for a machine with so many adjustment options.
It takes time and experimentation to find the right settings for grind, pressure, and intensity. This can be overwhelming for beginners, especially compared to a fully automatic coffee machine that is ready to use immediately. Only after everything is properly adjusted does the machine become truly easy to use and produce delicious coffee.
Once the settings are correct, the machine delivers excellent coffee with a noticeable improvement in taste compared to a fully automatic espresso machine. Manually frothing milk is easy, but requires practice and is less suitable for those looking for speed and convenience.
On the plus side, cleaning is surprisingly easy for a semi-automatic machine. All in all, the WMF Espresso Pro is primarily suited to users willing to invest time in learning and adjusting. Those who aren't willing to do so will likely find the complexity a drawback rather than an advantage.

I've been using the WMF Espresso Pro for a few weeks now. Before that, I had a standard pod machine, so this was a pretty big step up to a serious coffee maker. But I'm so glad I took the plunge! The WMF is a fantastic machine. It does take a little while to understand all the settings and steps, but once you do, you can make a delicious cup of coffee in no time. You can precisely measure the amount of beans, which falls into the piston, which you then place in the holder, and then you have a cup of coffee. The milk is also frothed very quickly, as you can do this during brewing thanks to the double thermal block. Afterward, you clean the piston and the milk frother, making maintenance quite easy. There's even a cleaning kit included (under the drip tray) to keep your machine in good condition. You can feel the machine and its components as a truly solid piece of equipment, and with proper maintenance, I think I'll be able to enjoy it for years to come. It is quite large, so you do need to have space in your kitchen, but it looks chic so it's no punishment to have it on your counter.
