Philips Headshaver Series 5000 HS5980/15

My first impressions were positive: the head shaver fits comfortably in the hand, is easy to use on my head, and was ready to use right out of the box. The device shaves smoothly over the contours of my head, collects cut hair excellently, and is incredibly easy to clean. I charged it once upon receipt and have been using it every other day for three weeks now without needing to charge it again. Don't expect a shave as close as with a razor, but for everyday use, it's more than good enough.

I also use it on my face. It does a reasonable job there, but it doesn't shave as well over the facial contours as it does over my head. One drawback, in my opinion, is the price of replacement blades: around €35 (as of January 2026), almost half the price of the shaver itself.

For daily head shaving, this is highly recommended.

I'm very pleased with this head shaver. I shave my head while watching TV. It's quiet, which is nice. It's very comfortable in the hand; you can hold it between your fingers, which is very convenient. A rotating motion with your hand gives you the fastest, smoothest shave. I can shave my head five times before needing to recharge. Once it's on the charger, it also charges quickly. Cleaning is very easy; you simply remove the shaving heads and rinse it under the tap! All in all, I'm happy with this device!
