Tefal Easy Fry Smart & Silence EY876D

I resisted having an air fryer for a long time, but when our oven suddenly broke, it was really nice to have an alternative.

When I unpacked it, I initially thought: oh no, it's so big, but in the end, it wasn't too bad. For a 7-liter air fryer, it's quite compact. What I really like is that the container is removable and dishwasher-safe. The window is also a plus, because you can clearly see how the food is cooking, making the appliance more like an oven.

I immediately tested the air fryer with chicken nuggets and onion rings using the preset programs. Within ten minutes, they were nicely browned and crispy. The taste is slightly different from deep-fat fryers, but certainly not bad. Baking rolls was also surprisingly fast: in less than eight minutes, I had fresh rolls, without preheating.

After two weeks of use, I'm convinced that an air fryer is a truly great addition to the kitchen, especially for smaller oven-cooked meals. What I do notice is how quiet it is. Sometimes you barely hear the beep when you need to turn the food. I would have preferred it to be a bit louder.

Another plus is the keep-warm function: after the program ends, your food stays at the right temperature. This setting is a bit louder, probably to help the appliance cool down faster.

One minor drawback is the manual. It could have been more comprehensive, especially regarding basic operation, such as not having to preheat and adjusting the temperature and time compared to an oven. I also miss a clear explanation of how to use the rack with the different settings.

All in all, it's a keeper and a versatile appliance that you'll enjoy using for a long time.

Super handy for that sandwich or baguette from yesterday at Peoen. A pizza slice or a meal for the late worker who eats alone. Delicious, freshly made chicken pieces, snacks for everyone. I think it's a great addition to my large 90cm oven, which doesn't need to be done every time. It's handy that you can see how it's going through the window. There's a tray inside, so we could put potatoes on the bottom and meat on top at once. So far, I can't find any real negatives. It's not a small appliance, but thanks to its shape and appearance, it doesn't look bad on the counter. The "ready" beep is subtle; perhaps it could be adjusted.

I am very pleased with this air fryer.

Another big plus is that it is really very quiet.

The basket has 2 levels; using the tray, you can place it either at the very bottom (for buns) so they don't burn easily, or in the middle (for fries), which makes them ready faster.
