anything for a smile
If you want to transform your living room into a real home cinema, the Epson EH-LS970B is highly recommended. This projector has high brightness and can simply be placed on your TV stand thanks to the ultra short throw ratio. The sound is also surprisingly good thanks to the built-in Bose speakers. Unfortunately, the projector's setup takes quite a long time, and it does not utilize automatic keystone correction.
High brightness The EH-LS970B has a light output of 4,000 ANSI lumens, which is more than bright enough. This is due to the built-in 3LCD laser. In our darkened test room, the projection appears just as bright as the screen of a luxury mini-LED television. It is just like looking at a TV screen, but with a size of up to 150 inches. This turns our test room into a home cinema. If I turn on the lights, the image quality is slightly less good. I can still see all the details of a nature documentary, but the projection has taken on a gray glow. Nevertheless, I am impressed. Despite the bright lighting directly above the projection, I can actually see exactly what is happening. In an average living room with some ambient light, you won't have any trouble with it.
Luxury design This projector is quite large, but at the same time has a luxurious appearance. The projector features a sleek, black design with neatly concealed connections. The EH-LS970B is an ultra short throw projector, so you place it directly in front of the projection surface. In our test room, it fits perfectly on the TV stand. I don't have to look for a good spot around my seating area, which I really appreciate. Furthermore, the projector is richly equipped with connections. For example, you have 3 HDMI connections, one of which is for an eARC soundbar. Unfortunately, the projector does not have automatic keystone correction. This means that you have to adjust the projection yourself, which can be tricky. With manual adjustment, you enjoy higher image quality than with an automatic system, but you do compromise on ease of use.
Realistic sound with Bose speakers Furthermore, I enjoy the built-in Bose speakers. This is a 2.1 channel system with stereo sound and surprisingly deep bass. Turn up the volume a bit, and you become completely immersed in what you are watching. Explosions in an action movie fill the entire room. For a true home cinema experience, I would still recommend a separate soundbar. You can easily connect this to the projector's eARC port. This gives the high and mid tones, in particular, a bit more depth. The built-in Bose speakers have plenty of power, but for live concerts, you sometimes miss details.
