Shokz OpenDots 2 White

The Shokz OpenDots 2 are nice earbuds that deliver full and detailed sound. I control the music easily with the earbuds themselves. I find it a pity that the charging case looks and feels a bit cheap.

Full and detailed sound The earbuds deliver full and detailed sound. I can clearly hear instruments in the background of pop music, but they are balanced with the vocals. With Dolby Audio, I hear more spatial sound. This allows me to hear more depth in the sound, as if the music is playing in space. The sound still sounds full, which I really like. Sometimes the sound sounds tinny with spatial audio, but now I hear truly full sound as if I were standing in the studio with the artist. In addition to Dolby Audio, I choose from various equalizer modes in the Shokz app. With every mode, the sound remains full, only the emphasis on tones shifts. For example, with the Voice mode, I hear the vocals just a little more in the foreground. Thanks to the full and detailed sound, I can listen to music for a pleasantly long time. Easy operation The back of the earbud is round and has flat edges that I use to control the music. I can easily grip the back and squeeze once to pause the music. I even turn the volume up or down by squeezing the stem until the sound is at the desired volume. In the app, I set which action I want to trigger with the number of squeezes per earbud. For example, I change it so that squeezing once skips to the next track.

Comfortable fit The earbuds sit securely around my earlobe. I barely feel them, and they don't shift either. Because of this, I can easily wear them for an entire office day. The earbuds feel solid and look neat. The charging case is made of matte plastic, which I find a pity. As a result, it feels less sturdy.

After trying the OpenShokz Pro 2 and Pro 2 Mini, I was pleased with the sound. However, I didn't find them very comfortable when worn with glasses, although that might be less of an issue with a thin frame. After switching to the OpenShokz Dots 2, both the sound and comfort are truly top-notch, while you also remain able to hear your surroundings clearly.
