Shokz OpenFit Air 2 White

I bought these to replace my OpenFit Air, the left earbud of which stopped charging after 2 years. After much hesitation, I ordered the successor anyway, mainly because of the slightly better water resistance on paper.

Now that I have them, the design turns out to have changed more than I anticipated, and the specifications provided by Cool Blue turn out to be incorrect. These earbuds have no touchpad on the ear cup, only physical buttons. Moreover, these are placed in a hard-to-reach location. I operated the OpenFit Air intuitively while running (I regularly skip a song from my playlist with a tap on my right earbud); I don't see myself doing that with these physical buttons that I have to search for somewhere against my ear cup.

Another thing that puts me off: the new design. It looks nice, but whereas the previous version rested ON my ear cup, with this version a part has to go INSIDE my ear cup. That makes for a fuller sound, but for me, it feels unpleasant. I buy this type just to have an ON-ear, I don't want to feel a particle in my ear.

In short: I'm not keeping this one. Too bad…

In addition to my great Shokz OpenRun Pro 2, I was looking for something more comfortable for the couch, and the Shokz OpenFit Air 2 is the ideal solution. Thanks to the open-ear design, you can still hear your surroundings, and the sound is surprisingly good. Making calls also works excellently. Highly recommended!
