Long awaited, this air conditioner. Finally a powerhouse that was suitable for a larger space and also looked sleek. And for 1250 euros for a mobile air conditioner you also expect the Rolls Royce among air conditioners. Previously used a mobile air conditioner from an unknown brand. That bastard was from 1999! So let's take a look at a 'more economical' newer, more functions and above all more powerful for the really warmer summer months.
Then I received an email that it was finally in stock, so I ordered immediately. Very neatly delivered the next day by 2 delivery guys from Coolblue. Then we had to wait for a warm summer night, and it presented itself almost immediately. So test it! The first thing I noticed was the shrill and annoying compressor noise the unit made in cooling mode. Something that both my partner and I really can't get used to after a night of testing. (The old air conditioner was much quieter, and gave a deeper hum than this unit).
The next day I measured again and at 2m distance the dB meter indicated 80dB when the compressor started, and on average 72dB in cooling mode. Much louder than the advertised value. If you are a light sleeper, or sensitive to irregular sounds, I would really look further.
I am also not satisfied with the air displacement. Of course you are aware that you are buying a heavy air conditioner for larger spaces, but you expect that a silent mode or 'night mode' provides a somewhat more pleasant setting. Unfortunately, the device still caused quite a bit of air movement in that mode, so you always had the feeling that you were sitting / lying on the draft. This also applies to the output through the hose. If you point it outwards, pay close attention to where you point the hose/airflow, it is quite good.
I was also surprised to learn in the manual that this device may not be stored in rooms smaller than 15m² due to the risk of explosion. So if you want to park this thing in a shed during winter storage, forget it with the warranty, because the same manual also states that any use other than indicated is misuse of the device and the manufacturer's warranty will expire.
There is one bright spot; that I was well helped by a colleague from Coolblue, who understood my situation, and had the air conditioning picked up immediately the next day. But at least no more Duux for me.
