The Garmin Vivoactive 6 is a stylish and comfortable watch that I use for extensive sports measurements. Another major advantage is the long battery life, so I don't have to charge the watch often.
Medium size and stylish finish
I don't have the widest wrists, but the watch fits well. It fits snugly without being too tight. The watch is also very light, so I barely feel it on my wrist. The silicone strap is comfortable, even during exercise. The round watch case is minimalist and made of matte aluminum, making the watch unobtrusive.
Bright and easy-to-read screen
The AMOLED screen is easy to read, even in bright sunlight or bright ambient light. Because the screen is mostly flat, I can read everything easily even when I tilt my wrist. The screen responds quickly when I tap apps or functions. The bezel is a bit thick, but that's not bothersome.
Battery life of over a week
With a full battery, the Vivoactive 6 lasts more than a week. For one week, I regularly used the always-on function. With this function, the screen is always on, so you always see the time and other data. Otherwise, I always wore the watch and used it for two hour-long workouts. If the always-on screen is always on and you exercise frequently, the battery life is one week or less.
Extensive sports functions and Body Battery
It has more than 80 sports functions, from running to golf and from horseback riding to rowing. I run regularly, so I tested the running function. While running, I have a clear view of all my data. When I'm finished, I get a detailed report of my workout. For example, I can see the effect the workout has on my health. The watch uses this data to provide tips for other workouts, giving me personalized workouts. Thanks to Body Battery, I know how fit I am during the day. Every morning, I also receive a summary showing my sleep quality and a workout tip if needed.
Listening to music via Spotify
I receive my smartphone notifications on the Vivoactive 6 without delay. You can pay contactless, but only if you have a credit card or use ABN AMRO, ING, or Rabobank. I also listen to music through my earbuds on my wrist, as the watch supports Spotify. One thing I noticed is that I can't accept or reject phone calls.
