Expert review of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus
In February 2026, Samsung launched the Galaxy S26 Plus. This new high-end smartphone is compact and superfast. I was able to test this smartphone for a short while. In this Samsung S26 Plus review, I'll tell you about my first impression of the device. You can find an extensive review here soon.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus
- With Galaxy AI, you can perform tasks with 1 question without opening an app and edit your photos by writing a prompt.
- Thanks to the sharp Quad HD screen, you can watch videos, movies, and series in high quality.
- You can use this powerful device for the most demanding apps and 3D games.
- A charger isn't included with this device, you'll have to buy one separately.

First impression
When I take the Samsung S26 Plus out of the box, the large screen stands out right away. The bezels are thin and the device feels sturdy and luxurious. Just like the other S26 Plus models, the box doesn't contain a charger. You'll have to buy one separately.
Large and sharp screen
The 6.7-inch screen provides much space for apps and video. Texts and images look very sharp thanks to the Quad HD resolution. Watching series and videos feels very nice that way. The downside is that the smartphone is hard to control with 1 hand. In a tight pant pocket, it does stick out.
Fast smartphone with Galaxy AI
While I use it, I notice that the S26 Plus responds quickly. Apps boot quickly, and I can switch between my email, browser, and social media without any slowdowns. Demanding 3D games run smoothly. I use Galaxy AI to shortly summarize long texts or quickly translate texts, for example. Making small edits to photos via a prompt also feels natural and fast.
Always take sharp photos
There are 3 cameras on the back: a standard, wide-angle, and telephoto lens. During the day, I can take photos with many details and bright colors. Indoors and in low light, my photos remain usable and fairly sharp. With the telephoto lens, I can zoom in 3 times optically without clear quality loss. Zoomed in photos also still look neat. Videos look smooth and stable.
Battery and charging
I mostly notice the larger battery of the S26 Plus during busy days. When I text, browse, and watch videos a lot, I can easily reach the end of the day. Even if I play games or stream for a longer time, I usually have some charge left. With a 45W fast charger, I can quickly charge the battery by a lot. You do have to buy a charger separately.
Conclusion: Samsung Galaxy S26 review
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus suits you if you value a large, sharp screen with a high speed. The device is suitable for demanding apps and games, and makes good photos in most situations. If you're looking for a compact smartphone, the S26 Plus is a better choice. If you mostly want more viewing space and a larger battery, the S26 Plus is an attractive choice.
