How do you maintain your Meta Quest VR headset?

Make sure sunlight doesn't damage your Meta Quest VR headset or that your VR headset screen has defective pixels. With these 3 tips, you can extend the lifespan of your Quest VR headset:

Tip 1: prevent defective pixels
Don't put your VR headset in direct sunlight. You'll get defective pixels in the screen of your Meta Quest VR headset in less than a minute. That's why you should always store the Quest away from direct sunlight. The Meta Quest 2 Travel Case is ideal for that. You can also store the VR headset in a cupboard with doors. Make sure you also don't expose the headset to sunlight when you take a short break.
Tip 2: clean the exterior and controllers
Use a dry cloth to clean the exterior of your headset. To clean the bands and the foam pads of the mask, use non-abrasive antibacterial cleaning cloths. Don't use alcohol or aggressive cleaners.
Tip 3: clean the lenses
Take a dry microfiber cloth for optical lenses to clean the lenses of your headset. Don't use liquid or chemical cleaners. Move the cloth from the middle of the lens to the edges of the lens with circular motions.
