What's affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a form of online marketing in which companies collaborate with external partners (affiliates) such as websites, blogs, or comparison websites. These partners link to products or promotions and receive a commission if a purchase is made through that link. Coolblue also works with such partners.

What are affiliate links?

Affiliate links are special tracking links that partners use to promote our products. When users click on these links to visit Coolblue and make a purchase, the sale is credited to the associated partner, who then receives a commission.

What's Awin and how does the affiliate network work??

Awin is our affiliate network. This is where your clicks, sales, and commissions are tracked. You can also find promotional materials and detailed reports on your performance there.

Do I need to be registered with the German Commercial Register?

Not necessarily. You only need to be registered if you generate a large income.

Do I need a website to apply?

Yes, you'll need a platform through which you can promote Coolblue. For example, a website, blog, app, or social media account.

My application was rejected. Why?

Your application may be rejected for several reasons. We've listed the most frequent ones in the email you've received. Any questions? Let us know so we can look for a solution together.

Does Coolblue work with discount codes and cashback websites?

No. We stopped working with discount codes in January 2019.

Cashback websites are permitted only under certain conditions, and each partner is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Can I add an extra website to my account?

If you want to promote Coolblue with extra websites or social media, you have to add them to your Awin account. To do this, log in, go to “Account” and then click on “Promotional Channels” under “Profile.” From there, you can add a website to your account.

How can I stop participating in the affiliate program?

Send a short email to affiliate@coolblue.de. We'll arrange the rest!

Can I unsubscribe from the newsletter?

Of course. At the bottom of the email, click "Unsubscribe".

Is it possible to set up exclusive promotions?

Yes! If you have an idea, feel free to get in touch with us. Together, we'll see what's possible.

Do you work with generic discount codes?

No. We deliberately don't use generic discount codes.

**Can I use Coolblue's content?**Yes, you can use the content of the Coolblue website for inspiration, but you can't copy it. In our feed, you can find an image you can use for each product. It's the same one as the first image on a product page. You can also refer to our product videos on YouTube. The link below takes you to our affiliate image library, which contains copyright-free photos you can use for your article layouts.

Where can I find the banners?

You can find standard banners in your Awin account under “Promotional Materials.” We always provide the appropriate banners for the various campaign periods here. You can also request custom banners. However, keep in mind that this requires some advance planning.

Can I adjust the banners myself?

No. Our banners are designed in the Coolblue style and can't be changed to ensure maximum performance and consistency.

Which separator is in the product feed?

A comma.

Can I get a product feed for a specific category?

You can find all product types in the full feed. If you want a separate feed for a certain product type, we can create one for you.

I can't find all the products in the product feed. What's up?

There are 2 possible explanations for this. It's possible that a product is no longer in stock or that we filter from the feed any products that don't earn us any profit after deducting the commission. We only want to promote products that are profitable for both of us.

In what format is the product feed provided?

Our product feed is provided in CSV format. This makes it very easy to process, whether you integrate it into your own tools or use it directly on your website.

Why isn't the feed working right away?

The feed must be activated first. This takes about 4 hours after the initial download.

How long is an affiliate cookie valid?

Up to 56 days.

Does Coolblue use deduplication on other channels?

No, this is no longer necessary with the new attribution model. You receive a commission for your share in the customer journey. Read more about our new attribution model below.

Do I earn commission on other products?

Yes. If your traffic leads to a purchase, you'll earn a commission regardless of the product you originally promoted.

How does international tracking work?

There are separate programs and tracking codes for Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

How is the commission structured?

The commission varies depending on the product category. This allows us to always offer the best commission.

When are the orders checked?

Within 30 days.

When will I receive my payment?

The minimum payout amount is € 20 (according to Awin), and you can adjust the payout settings flexibly in your Awin account. Awin processes payouts twice a month. Please note that commissions are paid out excluding VAT. 

Why was an order rejected?

For example, an order may be rejected if it was returned or not paid for.
