According to our pan expert
This pan has a high-end build quality, so it's sturdy and lasts a long time.
Le Creuset provides a lifetime warranty on this pan.
The drip rings in the lid distribute the moisture in the pan evenly, so your dish stays tender.
A cast-iron pan is relatively heavy and less easy to move around than an aluminum pan.
In the Le Creuset Signature Round Dutch Oven 26cm Matte Black, you can prepare dishes for about 5 people. That's ideal for a family or if you like to have dinner with friends. The pan is made of cast iron, so it gradually builds up the heat and distributes it evenly. This makes the pan very suitable for stews. You can simmer meat or prepare a fresh pasta sauce, for example. Cast iron is very durable as well. If you maintain the pan properly, it'll last for years or even generations. The pan is suitable for all heat sources, including induction and use in the oven up to any temperature. And there are drip rings in the lid that evenly distribute the moisture over your dish. This way, your meat stays nice and tender and cooks evenly.
The black pan has a black satin enamel inside. The inside is a little bit rough. All other colors are light and smooth inside. Both types have their pros and cons, but in the end it makes little difference. A black inside is dark inside, but you will not see deposits as quickly. I do not regret this choice.
The pan is a bit heavy, but that also has the advantage that it does not slide over the stove so easily. You don't always have to hold it while stirring. Cleaning is fine. I'm very happy with it, and wonder why I didn't buy it much sooner.
I immediately threw all PFAS frying pans in the bin. No more plastic in my pans.
