According to our monitor arm expert
Adjust the mount to your ideal working posture.
With the 2 included clamps, you can mount this model on just about any desk.
This monitor mount can't be attached to the wall.
Do you want a practical way of working with your laptop and an extra screen? The StarTech Monitor Arm with Laptop Stand has a holder that lifts your laptop from your desk to exactly the same height as your extra screen. This lets you create a workplace with 2 screens where your laptop's screen is your second screen. This monitor arm can tilt, swivel, hinge, and rotate around multiple axes. Adjusting the height is very easy with the support of a gas spring. The monitor arm supports a screen between 15 and 27 inches, can bear a maximum weight of 8 kilograms, and has cable management clips. The laptop holder can also bear up to 8 kilograms and is equipped with integrated cable management clips.
I use this monitor arm on a desk that is against a wall. It is impractical to use the extension of the arm, because it must be able to rotate backwards. Even without an extension, my 27-inch monitor and 15-inch laptop fit perfectly next to each other.
