I recently purchased the AFi-R, because of a very good experience with colleagues and now with myself. Although the speed in parts of the house had improved compared to the previous WiFi router, the speed was not yet optimal.
Coincidentally, I saw a second chance available and decided to purchase this Mesh Point to provide the other part of the house with some extra WiFi power.
After connecting, I still had to perform a factory reset, since it was trying to connect to something that didn't exist. After reset the AFi-R immediately found and paired. The signal strength is optimal and now also reach full speed in the "lesser" parts of the house.
There are 5 LEDs on the Mesh Point that indicate the signal strength. In the bedroom this seemed a bit less interesting and I was happy with the option to switch off the LEDs.
Since I try to pay attention to the energy consumption in the house, I decided to test how many watts this extension uses. But apparently I don't have a meter that can measure such a low wattage, the result was 0 watts. This even while performing a speed test. Probably the consumption will be between 1-5w and that is fine.
Recommended for anyone with the AFi-R who wants some signal improvement here and there :-)
