Already had a synology NAS, so already familiar with DSM, but this one has even more options. The most striking are the two e-sata connections so you can set up a system up to 16 bays, 4 Gbit Ethernet ports with link aggregation and the possibility to expand with either 10Gbit Ethernet port or SSD cache. RAM can also be expanded (standard 4Gb) up to 32 Gb! Handy when you want to set up VMs. Original DDR-4 Ram from synology is shockingly expensive... NAS is therefore also suitable for a (small) office. Furthermore, DSM (Disk Management System) offers all possibilities you can think of, such as spare disks, SSD cache and SHR (Synology Hybrid Eaid), so that disks of different sizes can also be combined in a RAID setup and redundancy. This offers the opportunity to breathe new life into "old" drives and replace smaller drives with larger ones. Additional licenses are required for certain functions, for example if you want to connect more than 2 cameras.
