According to our internal hard drive HDD expert
This drive is suitable for 24/7 use in a RAID setup.
Dual-plane balancing and the rotational vibration sensors reduce vibrations in the drive.
Includes Seagate Rescue Services for 3 years of data recovery.
This hard drive doesn't fit in a laptop.
The IronWolf NAS hard drive doesn't have any added value for a desktop computer compared to a 'regular' hard drive.
The Seagate IronWolf ST12000VN0008 12TB is a 3.5-inch internal hard drive specifically developed for use in NAS servers for home use and small companies. This hard drive from the IronWolf series uses Dual-plane balancing and rotational vibration sensors, which reduce vibrations in the drive. This increases the reliability and makes the IronWolf suitable for 24/7 use in NAS servers. In addition, you get 3 years of Seagate Rescue Data Recovery free of charge. Rescue Service restores your files in case of damage, which gives you more certainty that your data remains saved. The IronWolf is suitable for 1 to 8-bay NAS servers. Use the 12TB hard drive in your NAS at home for movies and photos or as a server to store your most important files on.

Bought two Seagate IronWolf ST8000VN0022 8TB. One is installed in a Synology DS118, the other in a Windows 7 PC. They seem to do their job well.
Not to mention the packaging. Only in ESD packaging, then in a minimal Coolblue bag and then in a large box without the slightest buffers... With a little shaking of the box by the conveyor, the discs are tumbling around !!! Coolblue, already ordered a lot from you, but this is one of the worst packaging ever for HDD transport!!!!
Hopefully they won't break down soon due to any damage during transport...

I already had one of these identical, it has been running 24 hours a day for a year and not a single error on SMART. So very good. I also wanted to mention that I read a lot of negative reviews from people about how Coolblue packs hard drives. Under the motto: "if it's good, it can be said". This time the hard drive was packed extremely well. I bought this along with some other stuff. Now that the hard drive is still in place, it is packed separately, "box in a box" principle where it could not move. And the disk was suspended in such a box that absorbs the shocks from that elastic plastic. 10/10 package for a hard drive!

Bought disks to upgrade my Synology NAS (from 4TB to 8TB)
Unfortunately, the 8TB WD Red drives were out of stock. Hence went for the Seagate Ironwolf.
The Seagate Ironwolf is very disappointing, producing much more noise than the WD Red drives. Temperature of the drives is also higher.
In use for a month now, curious about the reliability.
