A nice idea that your child can play a game in a safe environment, without encountering strange things. When we took the tablet out of the box, we thought it was a bit small, but it is extremely suitable for small hands and therefore not that heavy. You really have to take the time to install the tablet properly. You have to create a google account anyway. After that it takes some getting used to the controls, but my daughter figured it out faster than I did.... The games were received very enthusiastically here and are great fun and well suited to my daughter's age. Sometimes too much fun, so it's good that there is also a time filter ;) There is also a filter so that you don't hold the tablet so close to your eyes, but it doesn't work very well. It didn't seem to register very well, so we kept getting this message and eventually turned this feature off. Tablet has a sturdy bumper and can therefore take a beating.

Fun and safe for little beginners

My daughter (almost 5 years old) and I were allowed to test this tablet. Yay, because it had been on my purchase list for a while because of the Studio100 features and the Genius parental control function.

The tablet comes well packed in a sturdy box. The supplied protective edge is already around it. It feels nice and is very smooth. The tablet itself feels solid. The leg is somewhat fragile and only works when used horizontally. It will then remain on a table if you are watching a movie.

The manual supplied in 4 languages is short. You don't need more. Anyone who has ever used a smartphone can install this tablet.

Note if you want to give it as a gift: It must first charge for 3 hours and be set up by an adult before a child can use it.

When set up, you can create multiple child profiles with name and date of birth, the latter is automatically used to set the age rating for web content.

You can download apps here, make apps visible and invisible in the child profile, blue light filter (looks pleasant and calm) and switch on and off sensors for correct distance and posture. There is exactly 1 (free anyway) app to be found, Studio 100 Go, in which you can use 1 (actually not even playable because the screen is too small) puzzle game, can watch 3 shows, 2 of which from Bumba, 2 booklets and many films, but especially clips that can also be found on Kindertube, making offs and fragments from TV programs.

The really nice stuff is encrypted and only accessible with the GO Pass, which costs €5.95 per month. And not to be used in the Netherlands at all because you have to be a customer of the Belgian TV provider Proximus. Luckily my child did not see the box. And luckily I was able to make the app invisible to her. Because. It would have made her endlessly frustrated and sad that she can't use all the nice things her heroes have.

My daughter loved that she got her own tablet. And the thought the pink border was cool. She enjoys the preset (but downloadable in the playstore anyway) apps Twinme (sending messages and video calling with Grandpa and Grandma) and YouTube Kids.

I made the rest of the apps invisible in the parent zone. The game apps and the kids game store because they are all apps in English. I installed the apps she used on my tablet instead.
