According to our desktop expert
Thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti video card, you can play games like Cyberpunk 2077 at the highest settings.
With an AMD Ryzen 9 processor and 32GB RAM, you can multitask with demanding programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
With 2TB, you have more than enough storage space for all your games.
This desktop has limited USB ports on the front, so you'll soon have to use the ports on the back.
The fans of the video card make noise while gaming.
On the HP OMEN 30L GT13-1640nd, you can play the latest and future games at the highest settings, with high frames per second, and in 4K resolution. No job is too demanding for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti video card. Do you like to make highlight reels of your best games? You can edit videos effortlessly in demanding programs like Adobe Premiere Pro thanks to the AMD Ryzen 9 processor and 32GB RAM. Your processor is water cooled, so the chance of overheating is a thing of the past. You have more airflow with the 30L chassis, so the other parts inside are cooled better too. The HP OMEN has 2TB storage, so you have enough room for a large game collection. On top of that, all your games start in no time if you install them to the 1TB SSD. Like a real gaming PC, this OMEN has a glass side panel. And all components, like the RAM memory, have lighting that you can set yourself via the OMEN Command Centre software. This way, the PC will light up according to your preference. If you want to replace anything from the PC, you can easily take off the side panel without needing extra tools.

This is currently one of the best top end PCs in this price range. The specs don't lie, just really good. One of the best i7 processors out there, fast 16GB RAM and simply the best video card ever made (okay, the RTX3090 is slightly better indeed).
The PC has a glass side and more than 5 different, customizable RGBs, which really make your PC into something cool. This way the inside can be changed along with your GPU/CPU if you want to. You can also turn this off if it drives you crazy ;)
This PC currently runs 100% of all games that have been released so far, and will do so for some time to come.

After some tests I come to the conclusion that the cpu gets too hot and the AIO is not powerful enough to cool the cpu properly. 45 degrees on idle, around 90 to 95 degrees under stress (eg game of warzone) which causes throttling. After some adjustments in the registry, he comes under stress around 35 and 70. However, that means that you cannot use the full 100% of the CPU power. You could replace the PhD student, but for this price range I think this should be OK. The problem with replacement is that the PhD bracket is glued to the motherboard, if you use too much force, your motherboard will break and you will be further away from home. Unfortunately I sent it back and got my money back. Of course, as usual, unprecedented top service from coolblue!

In principle, this is a fine Game PC, which does what it is supposed to do, and with a neat finish. But I usually prefer to put together my PC myself. The disadvantages that I mention also mainly have to do with that. If you would go for a pre-built anyway, then this is a great choice.
Now is not the time to build a new PC, with all the chip shortages driving prices up. But after about 4 years my previous PC started to stop working, and I still had to be able to continue working. So while I'm not super excited about buying a pre-built PC, I'm glad that the option is at least there, and that the price isn't very different from what I would pay for a PC in a normal day and age. .
One of the first things you notice is that this feels a bit like a laptop in terms of pre-installed software. In addition to the standard Microsoft Store Apps that Windows installs by default, and therefore have to be uninstalled immediately, there are also a number of virus scanners and various HP apps, of which it is not always immediately clear what they are good for. Most can come off. The Omen Gaming hub is necessary if you don't feel like sitting next to a rainbow as standard. It also took extra time to get the RGB of the HyperX Fury memory to calm down because HP's ftp servers where the required download was kept were not working, and judging by various forum posts this happens often. In any case, there is no option in the BIOS to turn off the lighting, so the colors remain at default until you are logged in.
The cooling is also louder at idle than I'd like. Partly because of the chosen fans, but also because the All-In-One water cooler has of course a water pump that always makes a little bit of noise. Now it is possible to replace all cooling, but you do not have a lot of choice due to the limited space in the cabinet. Especially the space for the rear fan is super small, which makes it more difficult to find a quiet fan. At least the UEFI/BIOS has no fan-curve settings, so you're dependent on HP's 3 buttons, Turbo, Normal and Quiet (which sound the same as normal when idle), in the Omen gaming hub. The built-in automatic overclocking function saw quite a bit of room for higher speeds, but that also made the PC louder than a vacuum cleaner.
In the long run I worry about dust in the PC because there are no dust filters in front of the fans. I am curious what effect the large ventilation holes on the side of the front plate will have. But in the end there is only a hole for the cooling at the bottom, and at the moment I mainly notice that the PC takes up more space than my previous one.
Ultimately, the PC works quite well, with about as many problems as I encounter with other PCs as a software developer, so I'm glad I even had the option to upgrade to the RTX 3080 and a 10700K for a reasonable price. But if it weren't so incredibly expensive to build a PC myself right now, I would have done it. Maybe at some point I'll replace the case, motherboard and cooling, but at the moment I can continue working well.
