According to our dock for laptops expert
This docking station has a lock which you can install a separate M.2 SSD into.
You can connect accessories like a mouse, keyboard, or hard drive to this docking station.
You can also read information from a memory card with the card reader.
This docking station only works with an iMac 24 inches 2021 or newer.
Expand your iMac with multiple ports with the Satechi USB-C Slim Dock for iMac 24 inches Blue. The design of this docking station matches your iMac 24 inches (2021 or newer). You can place it at the stand of your iMac and you're ready to connect all your peripherals. You can use this Satechi for more things than just connect your peripherals, because one of the leg stands of the dock has an opening for your own SSD. This way, you can directly add up to 2TB of extra storage to your iMac. After connecting the dock to your iMac, you can store all of your files on this SSD. Done with work? Put your iMac's Apple Magic Keyboard on the docking station. They're the same size, so your workplace will remain looking tidy. This docking station works on all Windows laptops and MacBook models with a USB-C port that transmits a video signal. This is how you check if your laptop has a suitable USB-C port.
Product is Plug and Play. Connect the plug between dock and iMac and it works. The design blends seamlessly with the design of the Mac. Someone who sees the arrangement will not see that it is not supposed to be like this. The disadvantage is that part of the USB ports are at the back. If your desk is against the wall, this can be difficult to reach. The number of ports is also somewhat minimal (especially for a hub) since 1 port is already used up when connecting to the iMac itself. The option to expand the memory is ideal. Most iMacs don't have the world of memory, so this is a quick and invisible solution for more memory.

Just does what it should. Connected quickly. Recommended if you need more storage space for your Mac.

Because everything is done via a cable, the transfer speed is not fast enough. Especially when 2 or 3 hard drives are busy.
