Wisberg WB5CM29B

The Wisberg WB5CM29B bakes my pizzas perfectly and pops my popcorn in under 2 minutes. Thanks to the automatic programs, I can quickly select the right settings. However, the combination microwave is quite large at 29 liters, making it less suitable for a small kitchen.

First Impression The combination microwave has a 29-liter capacity and feels heavy and sturdy. I like this because it allows me to fit a lot in it and ensures a long life. The handle on the left side makes opening the microwave easy. Thanks to the internal light, I can clearly see what's inside and whether my dish is ready. The digital display shows how much time remains before I take my food out.

Convenient Automatic Programs

The oven has 10 automatic programs. I set an automatic program using the "Auto Menu" button. For my mini frozen pizzas, I select the pizza setting. Then, I press the dial once to select a weight. I choose 200 grams and press the dial again to confirm, after which the program starts automatically. The oven automatically selects the best settings for my mini pizzas. After less than 18 minutes, they're ready. They're hot, crispy, and delicious!

Heats food quickly The microwave has a maximum power of 1,000 watts, which allows me to heat up meals quickly. When I click 'Confirm,' I see that I can even choose between different wattages. If the packaging says a lower power level, I choose that. For my popcorn, I choose the maximum 1,000 watts so it's ready quickly. After 2 minutes, the popcorn is just right. Everything is popped, and the popcorn isn't burnt or dry.

Special crisping tray

The included crisping tray makes dishes crispier. I often use it for baking quiches or other puff pastry dishes. This way, the crusts don't stay soggy, but are nice and crispy.

Convenient defrost function When I get home late, I often grab a meal from the freezer. The defrost function makes this possible. I put my frozen meal in the microwave and click "Defrost." I select a weight and press the "Confirm" button. The microwave starts defrosting. Halfway through, the microwave gives a helpful signal to turn my meal over, ensuring everything defrosts thoroughly. After about 10 minutes, my meal is completely defrosted and I can quickly reheat it.

We have the impression that the temperature doesn't quite match the indicated temperature. Pizzas aren't properly heated in the middle after the indicated baking time, rolls aren't browning properly, except on the highest rack, and the banana bread was still mushy after 55 minutes. I had confidence in the appliance and therefore threw away the box and packaging; not a smart move, haha! So, bake mostly at a high oven temperature and use considerably longer baking times.

This is a great (combi) microwave for a great price. We previously had a Siemens built-in microwave with a niche height of 38cm. Unfortunately, it broke after 21 years. Since our renovation, and therefore new kitchen, isn't planned until next year, I thought it would be a waste to buy a new built-in microwave now. Also, current microwaves are mainly available with a niche height of 45cm.

I happened to see this appliance on sale in the Coolblue newsletter. And how lucky I am that this product fits perfectly in the hole of the old microwave. With the frame and raised edges of the old magnets, it still looks like a semi-built-in microwave.

What I like about the microwave is the power: 1000W. Our old one was also 1000W, and all new built-in ones have a maximum of 800/900W. Not that I would really notice the difference, but still. And as I said, the capacity. 29 liters is also quite large compared to the newer built-in microwaves, which are currently only 20/21 liters.

So all in all, this is an excellent product at a great price. Definitely recommended!
