Bosch Unlimited 10 BBS1041GQC

I’ve been using the Bosch Unlimited 10 for a while now, and while it performs well in many ways, I notice that it’s not the lightest vacuum cleaner. Especially during longer sessions, it feels a bit heavy, which makes it less smooth to use than I had hoped. That said, the vacuum is incredibly handy in other ways.

What I like best is that it automatically adjusts the suction power to the surface. You really notice that: on carpet it effortlessly switches to a more intensive setting, while on hard floors it works more efficiently. This makes cleaning easier, because you don’t have to keep switching between settings yourself.

The battery lasts well for my daily cleaning round, but as soon as I use the turbo setting, it runs out quickly. Fortunately, that powerful setting is not always necessary. The dust container is on the small side, so I have to empty it more often than with my old vacuum cleaner. That’s not ideal, but for a cordless model that’s to be expected.

All in all, I like it for daily use, especially because it works efficiently and I can reach everywhere with the attachments. However, because it feels a bit heavy, it is less suitable for long cleaning sessions. If you are looking for a compact and smart vacuum cleaner for in between, this is a good choice, but do not expect it to handle everything effortlessly.

I am very satisfied with this stick vacuum cleaner. The maneuverability is one of the biggest advantages: the bendable stick allows you to vacuum effortlessly under cabinets and sofas, even in hard-to-reach places. The device does make some noise, but this is not a major problem for me. The operating time of approximately 35 minutes on the normal setting is sufficient for cleaning my ground floor and the fast charger ensures that the vacuum cleaner is quickly ready for use again. The included floor brushes are very practical: one for hard floors and one for softer surfaces. This makes the Bosch Unlimited 10 ideal for households with different types of floors. The small attachment for keyboards, for example, also works fine. The vacuum cleaner has a lot of suction power and is easy to clean and empty. In addition, the device feels sturdy and solid, which indicates that it will have a long lifespan. All in all, a fantastic vacuum cleaner that I expect to enjoy for a long time to come!

Disclaimer: Hardly used, because it's being returned.

Pros:

• It's relatively quiet, and the noise isn't very annoying.
• It's convenient that you can compress the dust and empty it with the same slider when you open the lid, so you don't have to remove the dust container.
• It seems to work well on the normal (auto) setting; it rolls and vacuums up all sorts of things with ease, even small leaves fit in quite easily.

Cons:

• It's "smart," it recognizes surfaces (laminate, carpet, etc.), but that doesn't work well here. On foam play mats, it recognizes it as carpet, starts rotating the brush faster, and vacuums more intensely. Result: It gets stuck and even damages the mats with the brush.

This cannot be turned off (confirmed by Bosch), and for me, that's a reason to return it, because see next:

• Modes: "eco" (weak), "auto" (annoying), "turbo" (quickly drains). You can also add one extra mode, choosing from: "silent" (useless), "auto" (sucks harder, but doesn't solve my problem; the brush also spins faster), and "fine carpet" (hardly any suction). Why don't you give consumers the option of a REGULAR mode, i.e., the AUTO mode without reacting... (unfortunately, Dyson, for example, only has "auto" and not "normal")?
• It feels a bit heavier. Not a problem for me, but I can imagine people finding this annoying.

Further information, which you won't easily find, about the range, according to the display, WITH the usual floor brush:

• AUTO (on laminate) ~25 minutes
• TURBO ~11 minutes

This one is unfortunately going back. It could have stayed, if Bosch weren't so stubborn and thought it knew what was best for the consumer. Give people the option to simply vacuum, without the learned "smart" surface recognition, because...

1. There are always exceptional situations somewhere.
2. If you only test on what the manufacturer can come up with (laminate, carpet, etc.?), you'll always have issues.
