HP OMEN 35L GT16-0975nd

The HP OMEN 35L GT16-0971nd is a powerful gaming PC for those who want to play demanding games smoothly without building a PC themselves. It remains quiet during an intense gaming session, and I personalize the RGB lighting in the OMEN Gaming Hub. However, it has few connections for the heavy gamer.

First Impression When I unbox the PC, the sleek design immediately stands out. The glass side panel provides a good view of the RGB-lit components and makes it clear that this is a true gaming PC. The case looks sturdy and modern and fits nicely into my gaming setup. In the box, besides the PC, I find a power cable and manual. On the back, I see 1 HDMI port and 3 DisplayPort ports. For me personally, that is enough, but for a heavy gamer who needs a lot of connections, it might not be.

Getting Started Installation goes smoothly. I connect the power cable, connect my monitor and peripherals, and get started right away. This model features an RTX 5070 graphics card, an Ultra 7 processor, and 32 gigabytes of RAM. With this, I play various demanding games with ease. I do notice some stuttering with a heavy game like Microsoft Flight Simulator, which is why it performs best with DLSS enabled. I play light and medium-duty games without problems on ultra settings. Furthermore, I stream my gameplay with ease and edit videos in Adobe Premiere Pro without the HP OMEN slowing down. I can easily adjust the settings and RGB lighting in the OMEN Gaming Hub.

Cooling and Expansion During long gaming sessions, I find it important that my PC stays cool. The built-in fans dissipate heat, ensuring performance remains stable during intensive games. I also notice that the PC stays nice and quiet while gaming. The spacious 35L case also has plenty of room for expansion. I can easily remove the side panels without tools, making an upgrade quick and easy.

Final Verdict I consider the HP OMEN 35L a strong choice for gamers who want a ready-to-use gaming PC that you can get started with immediately. There are various configurations across the board, ensuring there is something for every gamer. Because you can easily implement upgrades, you are bringing home a future-proof PC.

In terms of performance, I was very satisfied with this OMEN. The RTX 5070 Ti performed excellently, and the PC was fast and smooth to use.

Unfortunately, my unit produced a very disturbing, constant high-frequency high-pitched beep almost immediately. Coolblue exchanged this unit without any issues.

The second unit was initially quiet, but shortly afterwards started producing exactly the same beep. I therefore returned this one as well.

I find two different units with the same problem too coincidental not to mention in a review. Moreover, more experiences with similar noises in OMEN systems can be found online.

It is a pity, because the PC performed excellently in terms of performance. But for a computer in this price range, I find such a continuously audible high-pitched tone unacceptable.

My advice to buyers: after purchase, listen carefully to the PC, especially when it is under light load. If you are sensitive to high-frequency noise, I would take this into account.

The OMEN 35L is a nice, sleek PC with plenty of room for expansion: an extra M.2 card and a hard drive fit easily. Unfortunately, the power supply no longer has a free SATA power cable. You can't buy one separately in the EU either, so you have to tinker with it yourself. Therefore, I disconnected the party lights to power my hard drive – not ideal.

Otherwise, I'm very satisfied: I use the PC with a 3x QHD screen setup, and that works very well with the Nvidia 5070 Ti. The PC is also nice and quiet, which I really appreciate.
