5GHz routers
WiFi routers use the 2.4GHz frequency to establish a wireless connection. This frequency gets busier because there are more and more devices that use wireless internet. That's why certain routers have an extra frequency band of 5 GHz, to deal with the crowdiness. Your router connects your smartphone, laptop, and any other device to the less crowded 5GHz WiFi network. Because this frequency sends data through the air at higher speeds, you can use faster internet. Because this band is less busy, your connection is also more stable.
