Rules

     Identity and Ownership

1. You're 18 years or older.

2. You declare that you're the owner of the product and that you're authorized to return to it.

3. The Coolblue account of the new purchase has to be in name of the person who trades in the product.

4. During the trade-in, you have to show a valid form of ID, such as a passport, ID card, or driver's license. That way, we can handle the trade-in securely and correctly.

   Privacy and Data

5. With the trade-in, you give us permission to delete all data from the device.

   • 5.1. You make a backup of your data before you trade in your device. Coolblue doesn't check if you stored this.

   • 5.2. Delete all data before you hand in your device.

   • 5.3. Any lost data is at your own risk. Coolblue isn't liable for this.

6. After you agree to the trade-in value, the old product is no longer yours. You can't request the device back or use it.

7. Active contracts, licenses, or subscriptions linked to the product remain your responsibility. Don't forget to disconnect the device from services like Office or iCloud before the trade-in.

   Trade-in terms and conditions

8. Coolblue will only accept your old product if it's listed in our Trade-in Tool on the website. Isn't it on the list? We don't accept it.

9. We always reserve the right to decide whether to accept your device. Coolblue will not accept the old product if it:

   • 9.1. Doesn't turn on. This means we can't determine if your personal data was deleted, so we won't accept the device,

   • 9.2. Doesn't have a legible IMEI or serial number,

   • 9.3. Is still secured or locked with a connected account. Turn off 'Find My iPhone' on iPhone models or 'Find My Device' on Android,

   • 9.4. Has accessories such as screen protectors, cases, or stickers,

   • 9.5. has a swollen battery or loose components.

10. You can exchange up to 10 products at Coolblue.

11. We always check first to make sure your old device wasn’t stolen. Of course, we don’t assume it’s stolen. If that turns out to be the case, we may confiscate your device and report it to the police. In that case, you’ll forfeit your right to the trade-in value.

    Trade-in value and Compensation

12. You can make your own non-binding estimate of the trade-in value via the Trade-in Tool on our website. This value is an estimate and can change.

    • 12.1. In the store, a Coolblue colleague will determine the final trade-in value based on the model and condition of your device. This trade-in value is valid on that same day.

    • 12.2. Trading in your old product at the store? That way, you'll find out right away what the final amount is.

13. You can receive the trade-in value in 2 ways:

    • 13.1. As a discount on your new purchase. This discount can only be applied within 30 days after purchase.

    • 13.1.1. Can't the discount be applied to your new order right away? The amount will be refunded to the bank account you used to pay for your new product within 7 working days.

    • 13.2. As CoolblueCredit on a Coolblue account.

    • 13.2.1. CoolblueCredit will be added to your Coolblue account within 3 working days.

    • 13.2.2. Don't have an account yet? We'll create one for you.

    • 13.2.3. The credit is valid for 1 year after you receive it.

14. The trade-in value can be used for any Coolblue order.

    Extra trade-in value

15. If you buy a new product with an extra trade-in value promotion, you can find this on the page of the product you're buying. You can only receive this extra trade-in value once, no matter how many devices you trade in.

16. You only receive the extra trade-in value on the promotional product.

17. You only receive the extra trade-in value if you buy your new device within the promotional period and trade in a device from the same product category.

    Return

18. When you return the new product within the 30-day return window, the following applies::

    • 18.1. You'll get a refund for the purchase price.

    • 18.2. Your original trade-in value will be added to your account as CoolblueCredit.

    • 18.3. The extra trade-in value is no longer valid and won't be paid out.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by German law, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

Trade-in tool: The online tool on the Coolblue website that lets you estimate the trade-in value of your old product.

Coolblue Credit: The digital credit that's added to your Coolblue account and that you can use for new purchases at Coolblue.

Trade-in discount: The amount you receive for your old product when you trade it in at Coolblue. The final trade-in discount is determined in the store based on the model and condition of your product.

Additional trade-in discount: A temporary promotion where you receive an extra amount on top of the regular trade-in discount when you purchase a product participating in the promotion.
