How do you clean the milk system of your Melitta Barista T Smart?
In this article, we'll explain how to clean the milk reservoir of your Melitta Barista T Smart. Rinse all parts after use and thoroughly clean the milk system once per week. Go through the steps in the video to easily clean all parts.
Get started with the milk system
You can clean the milk system in a few simple steps. This only takes about 10 minutes. We'll go through the following steps:

You need:
- Measuring cup
- Melitta milk system cleaner
- Container of at least 600ml
How often do you clean the milk system?
We recommend you to rinse the milk system daily and thoroughly clean it on a weekly basis. Use the Melitta milk system cleaner for this. With this mild milk cleaner, you can easily clean the milk system without damaging it. It's important to maintain the milk system, otherwise mold may start to grow. This milk system cleaner is enough for 5 times.

Step 1: prepare the cleaning
- Press and hold the 'Menu/OK' button for 2 seconds.
- Use the arrow keys to navigate to 'Maintenance' and press 'Menu/OK' to confirm.
- Select 'Clean milk system' and press 'Menu/OK' to confirm. Press 'Menu/OK' again.
- Grab a measuring cup and measure 50ml of milk cleaner.
- Pour the milk cleaner into the milk reservoir and add water until the mark.
- Connect the milk tube to the milk reservoir and the machine.
- Press 'Menu/OK' to confirm the clean.
Step 2: rinse the milk system
- Place a container under the coffee outlet. Confirm this with 'Menu/OK'.
- The milk system will now be cleaned.
- The coffee machine will pause the program after a couple of minutes. Now take the tube out of the milk reservoir and put it in the machine.
- Press 'Menu/OK' to continue cleaning.
- Once the program is ready, empty the milk reservoir and rinse it thoroughly.
- Press 'Menu/OK'.
- Take the tube out of the machine and put it in the milk reservoir.
- Press 'Menu/OK' and remove the container.
- The milk system has now been cleaned successfully.
