How do you descale your Krups Intuition?
On this page, we'll explain how to descale your Krups Intuiton. This takes about 20 minutes. By descaling your Krups coffee machine, you prevent limescale from building up in the pipes of your machine. The machine indicates when it's time to descale it. You can keep your Krups coffee machine in great condition by doing this job.

We'll explain how to descale your Krups fully automatic coffee machine as quickly and easily as possible. These are the steps we'll walk you through:

You need:
- Krups descaler
- 600ml container
How often should you descale?
The machine notifies you when it's time to descale. On average, this happens once every 4 months when you use a water filter. Don't use a water filter? You need to descale your Krups coffee machine once every 2 months. We recommend you use the Krups descaler. This descaler is made for your machine and keeps the pipes of your machine free from limescale. That way, you maintain your machine the right way and the taste of your coffee beans stays fresh.

Step 1: prepare the descaling
- The machine will indicate when it's due for descaling. Press 'Perform'.
- Remove the drip tray and coffee grounds container from the machine and empty them. Place the drip tray and coffee grounds container back in the machine.
- Remove the water tank from the machine.
- Remove the water filter from the water tank using the included attachment.
- Fill the water tank with tap water up to the 'Calc' indication.
- Empty the Krups descaler into the water tank and mix well.
- Place the water tank back in the machine.
- Place a 600ml container under the coffee outlet and press 'OK'.
Step 2: descale the machine
- The machine starts descaling right away.
- Empty the container when prompted by the machine.
- Remove the water tank from the machine and rinse it well.
- Fill the water tank to the 'Max' line with fresh water and place the water tank back in the machine.
- Place the empty container back under the coffee outlet.
- Press 'OK' to rinse the machine with water.
Step 3: rinse the machine
- The machine starts rinsing right away.
- Empty the container when prompted by the machine.
- Place the container back under the coffee outlet and press 'OK' for the final rinse.
- Remove and empty the container.
- Remove the drip tray and coffee grounds container from the machine and empty them. Place both back in the machine.
- Remove the water tank from the machine and place the water filter in the water tank. Use the included attachment for this.
- Fill and replace the water tank.
- Now the machine has finished descaling.
