How do you prepare your tablet for trade-in in the store?

Thanks to Tablet Upgrade, you get a discount on your new tablet when you trade in your old one. If you prepare for the trade-in properly, it'll be a lot easier and faster. Make sure you transfer your data beforehand. In this article, we'll explain all of the steps.

Step 1: transfer all your data

Apple iPad

Before you come to the store, transfer your data from your old iPad to your new tablet. It's very important that you disable 'Find My iPad' via the settings as well. Finally, log out from your accounts like iCloud.

Samsung tablet

Make sure you don't lose your data and transfer your data to your new tablet. Log out from your accounts as well, such as a Google or Samsung account.

Step 2: remove accessories and charge your tablet

Remove the memory card from your tablet, if you have one. Does your tablet have 4G or 5G support? Remove the SIM card from your tablet as well.
Do you use accessories? Take the tablet out of the cover and remove the screen protector from the screen. Only then, can we properly assess your tablet in the store.
It's important that your tablet is fully charged. This allows us to quickly check whether the tablet switches on. It's also better for the battery.

Step 4: bring your ID to the store

Go to the closest Coolblue store with your tablet and bring your ID, passport, or driver's license. Without personal identification, we can't accept your tablet. The expert checks your tablet and determines the trade-in value. Afterwards, you'll get a discount on your new Apple iPad, Samsung tablet, or other Android tablet.
