The LG UltraGear 27GN950 is a monitor for diehard gamers. The 27-inch screen has a high refresh rate of 144Hz and a low response time of 1 millisecond. This allows you to play without stuttering or ghosting and defeat all your opponents. Do you have a powerful video card? You can game in 4K, which is 4 times sharper than Full HD. The 27GN950 is compatible with both G-Sync and FreeSync 2. This keeps your fps and hertz the same, no matter what brand of video card you have. HDR 600 and DCI-P3 provide high brightness, beautiful colors, and a pleasant contrast. Additionally, the IPS panel ensures a true-to-life color representation, even when you're not sitting directly in front of the screen. You can tilt, rotate, and adjust the screen in height.

I first had the Alienware AW2518H in triple setup, which was a great purchase 2 years ago. The colors were already sublime for me, but I have now sold them to switch to this monitor. I can only be amazed with my mouth open what a beautiful colors it has, now I even play all kinds of games that I haven't played in years, just to see how this monitor brings the colors to life with a 144hz speed and nano ips. The more expensive monitors can easily be up to 3x as expensive, which is why I am surprised that this monitor can be so cheap, even if it is still a lot of money. If you like to enjoy beautiful colors and a lot of gaming, then this is something to save for. You will not regret this.

4K 144Hz combined with LG's rich contrast and color reproduction with the 10bit nano IPS panel is impressive. With G-sync and 98% DCI-p3, this display has almost everything to be “the perfect display”.
The edge-dimming technology is peanuts compared to full-array local dimming. It's better than nothing, but don't expect oled like results. HDR is therefore "fine", but not spectacular. Edge local dimming can also be enabled in SDR.
I expect full-array local dimming screens (coming later this year) to be twice as expensive. I therefore think that this screen has an excellent price/quality ratio, and I definitely recommend it!

I'm happy with this screen, I think the price is right for what it has to offer (4K at 144Hz, but only if you have a recent GPU). It is an IPS screen and you can see this fairly well, because there is a kind of glow that is characteristic of IPS in the background, although this is especially noticeable in the corners. You can reduce this somewhat by lowering the brightness, I recommend this anyway because it is a pretty bright screen (presumably also due to the HDR600 certification). Speaking of HDR, I would not expect too much, despite the HDR600 certification, the result is not really impressive. For this you will really have to look at a (very expensive) HDR1000/1400 screen. The menu is operated with the power button that works as a kind of joystick, after some getting used to it you can easily adjust the settings of the screen. I really like the modest design of the screen with thin bezels and the full adjustability (height, tilting). So this screen is definitely a must for me!
