According to our tablet expert
This tablet is suitable for basic tasks like watching YouTube videos and playing light games such as Candy Crush.
Thanks to the decent speed, simple apps like the NS app and games like WordFeud don't slow down.
On this medium-sized tablet, you can easily write emails or comfortably watch series.
This tablet is slower than others in this price range, so more demanding apps like Netflix can slow down.
The screen isn't bright and sharp enough to optimally enjoy your favorite movies and series.

Nice tablet. With free keyboard, this one is yet to come. I think it makes the ease of use even more pleasant

It is of course just an Android tablet like all the others, in this case with the typical Samsung tools on it. They have evolved a lot since the last time I worked with Samsung.
This tablet also has an S pen but without battery as with the pro version. This takes away some functionalities that I found rather far-fetched anyway. It's a pity that you can't use the back of the pen as an eraser like you do with Wacom-based pens, but you have to use the button on the side for that (which I really don't find useful). This button can also let you do other things than just erasing.
What bothers me the most is that there is no decent palm detection in any app I've tried so far. Even in the Samsung Note app specially developed for that purpose, I can't just put my hand on the screen while I'm writing and I think that's a serious limitation. Writing down long texts will be tiring in my opinion. I was hoping that was a setting, but Samsung has decided that each app is responsible for this detection, so there is no default setting where you can make it extra sensitive.
But there is also a lot of positive to say: the battery lasts for a long time (that's probably why it weighs so much because it contains a sturdy 10Ah battery), also with a clear screen (I have set it to show the screen only after 30 minutes). turns off). I mainly use it for reading online newspapers, watching training videos, managing scores and taking notes on those scores while playing. I haven't tried gaming yet, that doesn't interest me much on a tablet.
All in all, a great device that costs only about half the price of the non-Fan Edition S model and still comes pretty close to its performance, especially if you don't think gaming is that important.
