Synology DS423

I'm still working on what you can do with it, but making backups of the photos from our phones works well right away.

My old DS420j was starting to get slow and needed replacing. I had 4 disks of 8 TB each in a RAID-1 configuration. And it was getting a bit full. Time to clean up a bit so I bought the DS423, which has more memory. (2 GB versus 512 MB.) Apart from that they are pretty much the same. Not that I threw away the old DS420j, but the disks went into the new DS423, which recognized it immediately. And with that also simply kept all the shares. I gave the DS423 the name of the old DS420j, so that all my computers could continue to find the shares. The same users on it and done! Within an hour the new NAS was working normally. In the old DS420j I then placed some old disks from an old computer and that is now good for an extra TB in my network, after a factory reset. And now I have two NAS systems in my network. :)

Purchased to replace my previous DS414j. What can I say. It was as simple as a new phone these days. Transfer the hard drives (the sled they are in was even identical). Then you start up. Had to indicate to me what this was going to be called (same name as the previous one chosen). And then everything was back to how it was, but then a much faster browser interface and years of security arranged again.
