Improve your health with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Black 40mm. With this smartwatch, you're always up to date with your heart rate, number of steps, stress level, and sleep quality. The Galaxy Watch 6 is faster and has a larger screen than its predecessor, the Watch 5. As a result, you can quickly switch between various apps on your watch. With sleep coaching in the Samsung Health app, you can analyze your sleep pattern and get tips on how to improve it. In addition, you can make a health scan with your Watch 6. With this, you gain insight into the amount of muscle mass or fat mass you have. This helps you achieve your health goals. You can also closely monitor your sports performance with this Watch 6. When you have your smartphone with you, you can make calls with the smartwatch. You can also control other Samsung devices via your smartwatch, such as your Galaxy Buds or tablet. With average use, the battery lasts 1 to 2 days.
Note: a charger isn't included. Want to charge the watch via the socket? Use the USB-C charger of your smartphone or order a separate charger.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is a fast and stylish smartwatch with many smart and health functions. It works flawlessly with my Samsung smartphone and I never miss a notification or appointment again.
Format I have tested the 40 millimeter variant and it fit reasonably well on my wrist. I have a small wrist of 14 centimeters in circumference. The watch is recommended from 15 to 17 centimeters. This gives me quite a bit of space between the watch and my wrist. This is not very disturbing, but it connects less nicely.
Bright screen This Samsung Watch 6 has a beautiful, clear and sharp screen with bright colors. I scroll through all my apps very smoothly. The touchscreen responds quickly when I tap something. Thanks to the always-on screen, I can always see the time without moving my wrist or pressing a button.
Short battery life I always find the battery life of Samsung watches to be quite short. Samsung claims 40 hours of battery life, but I actually have to charge it every day. Otherwise, the watch will be empty the next day in the afternoon. After a while I got used to this. The Watch 6 fully charges in an hour, which is fairly fast.
Smart features I receive and read all notifications from my smartphone on my Samsung watch. I also answer my messages on the watch. I choose from 16 standard messages, but I can also type a message myself. There are few smartwatches that can do this, so I think that's a cool feature from Samsung.
Extensive sports measurements I tested the Watch 6 during my hiking holiday in the mountains. The watch accurately measures the time and route and my heart rate. In the mountains it is of course nice to see your altimeters, which I missed in the training overview. I also went for a run with the smartwatch. Afterwards I see my route accurately in the Samsung Health app. This app is clear and provides a lot of information about your performance, such as pace, running cadence and heart rate zones.
Health and sleep This Samsung watch gives me insight into the composition of my body. For example, you measure your BMI and how much muscle and fat mass you have. I also wore the watch while sleeping. It accurately measures my sleep phases. So I see exactly how much I woke up at night.

Samsung Galaxy Watch6 is based on Android Wear OS 4. The practical applicability of smartwatches has become increasingly better, because the smart watches have become smaller (less bulky and heavy) and the screens are becoming easier to read, even in full sun. Watch6 comes with the silicone strap right in the box, which feels amazingly comfortable. The strap looks nice, not cheap plastic. There is only a USB-C charging cable, the box is present, no adapter. Watch6 'normal' weighs 28 to 33 grams (depending on size 40 mm or 44 mm). The previous version still used lightweight titanium, but apparently Samsung has opted for cheaper and more easily available materials. The battery lasts a day and a half quite easily with even the all-ways-on screen activated. Charging the Watch6 is surprisingly fast. After half an hour the battery is usually close to 100% again. That makes up for the limited battery life, although I would much rather not have to think about charging my watch for a week. Thanks to the IP68 waterproofness, you can take it in the shower and, according to the 5ATM 810H specifications, you can even swim safely with it. Almost all sensors can be used immediately and are reasonably reliable. Before you can use the blood pressure sensors, they must first be calibrated. This means that you have to have your blood pressure measured somewhere and transfer those values immediately into the Watch6.
One of the more useful functions of a smartwatch is that you can read notifications from your phone on your smartwatch. I find this particularly practical for WhatsApp. It is useful to have the slightly larger 44 mm with a higher resolution of 480x480 pixels. It is possible to reply to messages, but typing longer sentences is of course extremely inconvenient on such a small surface. Samsung has created a nice Galaxy Wearable companion app, available via Google Play or Galaxy Store. Not too many nonsensical functions and quite user-friendly. Some functions are still a bit strangely half-hidden, but you get used to navigation quickly enough. The exchange of information between your smartphone and the smartwatch is fast and easy. I've seen that differently before. Fortunately, the time when a smartwatch was slow, extremely bulky and ugly is behind us. Unfortunately, a limited battery life is still a thing. Less bad than it was, but you can forget about a battery life of a week. In return you get a dozen sensors and countless apps and applications. I would strongly recommend going for the larger version, so that you have the larger 425 mAh battery on your wrist with the higher resolution.
