According to our monitor expert
Game with the sharpest images with the Philips 49M2C8900L/00 49-inch curved gaming monitor. Thanks to the dual QHD resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time, you can play the best games at the highest settings. The screen is curved, so you see more of the playing field. The colors of your favorite games look even better on the OLED panel with DisplayHDR 400 True Black support. That way, the color contrasts are even more detailed. Do you have an AMD video card? Use the FreeSync Premium PRO. This prevents screen tearing and your refresh rate is always at least 120Hz. Do you game at night? Tilt, turn, or adjust the screen in height for an ergonomic sitting posture. This prevents neck and back complaints. Thanks to the blue light filter, you're not bothered by strained eyes. This way, you can comfortably keep playing.

Fantastic screen, many connection options, nice sound too. In that respect, there is really nothing to complain about on this screen.
The remote control initially seems like a nice gadget, but it soon turns out to be necessary - the screen does not turn on automatically as soon as you connect a laptop and it is impossible to operate it via the joystick on the back.
I bought this screen specifically for the white, modern design and the Ambiglow technology, but that is very disappointing... The screen is in my living room and not against a wall, but the LEDs look a bit cheap and do not have the wide color range that you would expect from Philips. Maybe you shouldn't compare it with Philips Hue products and that's why they call it ambiglow instead of ambilight, but this is really a missed opportunity as far as I'm concerned. For example, in the 'breathe' mode you expect a nice fade in/fade out of the light, but it happens step by step. You can also only choose from a few different colors, but if you choose 'aqua', for example, and let it fade, the LEDs sometimes turn green (and with 'orange' you also see red at the transitions and there are more colors where the LEDs are not 'pure'). The idea is clearly to put the screen against a wall and it will probably do exactly what it's supposed to do, but that's not how my setup works. I would also have liked to see that you could integrate this with Philips Hue, just like you can integrate a Philips Ambilight TV. That is not the case. Hopefully this will be possible in the future, then I will still be at the front of the queue to buy a Philips Evnia monitor.

I was looking for a monitor that can be used for both business and private use (gaming). The high screen frequency and a response time of 0.03 ms make the Evnia screen an extremely nice monitor. The curvature of 1800 requires an appropriate distance between the screen and the user. Especially because the monitor base takes up quite a bit of space behind the screen (+/- 22cm). This requires a desk with a depth of at least 80 cm. An alternative base may be a solution, although you must take the weight of the monitor into account. The monitor offers Ambi lighting. Don't expect too much unless you connect the monitor to the Hue hub via the Hue Sync app. Even when using the monitor for business purposes, this gives a very special sensation, let alone with films and gaming. I really didn't think so. Furthermore, I am very positive about the fact that the monitor hardly reflects at all. All in all, I am very satisfied with the monitor.

After years of fiddling with a laptop, USB hub and two external screens, I was done with it. So often that charging a laptop did not work. I have now been using the monitor for 1 week and what a relief that I only have to plug 1 wire into the laptop and everything works. There was one occasion where the external keyboard did not work, but that was a hiccup. And the large screen is very nice. I use powertoys on Windows to make it multiple sections.
