With a tablet with 4G or 5G support, you can even access the internet at places without a WiFi connection. This is useful when you're often on the go and out of range of a WiFi network. You do need an eSIM or SIM card for a 4G or 5G tablet. That's because this isn't included by default with tablets with LTE but without a contract. For the new faster 5G network, your phone plan needs to support internet via a 5G network as well. The 5G tablets also support internet via the less fast 4G network.
